On a clear morning, you will get an unobstructed view of the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya out of your right window. Around mid-morning, you will arrive at the town of Nanyuki to cross the official Equator line. Your guide will pull over for a quick restroom break, an optional water-drainage demonstration, and a photo opportunity by the landmark sign....

The landscape instantly turns dry and dramatic, framed by massive rocky inselbergs like Mount Ololokwe.
